Ex- British Broadcasting Corporation Consultants Participate in Parliamentary Grilling After Allegations of Bias in Leaked Document
We open with inquiries from Conservative MP Caroline Dinenage, who chairs the group.
She initiates by providing context to the leaked memorandum written by Michael Prescott and published in a daily publication.
"I do not desire the BBC leaning in any particular direction, I simply desire it straight, fair and fair," he declares.
Upon being questioned if he thinks the British Broadcasting Corporation is institutionally biased, Prescott replies: "Absolutely not. To be clear, numerous aspects the British Broadcasting Corporation creates is world class - encompassing informative and non-factual programming."
But he adds: "There exists substantial tasks that needs to be done at the BBC."
The second ex-adviser BBC specialist examined by the committee, Caroline Daniel, remarks she takes the British Broadcasting Corporation very seriously and that it has a "continuous process and vigorous discourse" across evolving and intricate subjects.
"Whether the BBC was ready to have a genuine discussion and exchange and implement changes?" she asks herself. "In my view, affirmative, they were."
