A man from Australia who vaulted past a barrier and grabbed celebrity Ariana Grande has been sent away and prohibited from Singapore.

Johnson Wen, aged 26, was handed a penalty to nine days in jail for disrupting public order and has now been "barred from re-entering Singapore," Singaporean immigration authorities informed news outlets.

He forced his way past photographers and charged at the celebrity, who was participating in the Asian debut for Wicked: For Good on 13 November. Co-performer Cynthia Erivo pulled him back from Grande.

The individual has a record of disrupting concerts and celebrity events, including leaping onto the platform at the pop star's Australian show in this summer.

The incident sparked outrage in Singapore, with many claiming he of re-traumatising Grande.

The singer has mentioned suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrorist bombing at her performance in the English city in May 2017 resulted in the deaths of 22 individuals and affected hundreds.

In the legal process, the judge was informed he had attempted to intrude on the film's premiere multiple times, according to local news sources.

He then made a another effort to breach security. Event security intercepted him and pinned him down.

Wen later posted recordings expressing gratitude to the star for allowing his presence and said he was "released."

Authorities detained him the subsequent day and charged him with disorderly conduct, to which Wen pleaded guilty.

The Court Judge the judicial official was quoted by Channel News Asia as remarking that the man sought attention, commenting that he was incorrect to assume he would not suffer any consequences.

Grande has not commented on the situation.

The co-star spoke about the event to the press, remarking that she "just wanted to verify my colleague was protected."

"I'm sure he had no intention to us injury, but you never know with these incidents, and I aimed to confirm that she was OK. That was my initial reaction," she stated.
