Just as Storm Claudia swept through the northern region the prior day, the home side blew the visitors aside at the Etihad Stadium. It was a statement 3-0 victory for the City coach's side thanks to goals from Knaak, Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a performance that truly announced their leadership claims as they consolidated their position at the top of the table.

Consecutive Defeats for United

This scoreline signalled back-to-back Women's Super League losses for the United manager's side for the first time since May 2024, leaving them a sizable gap off the table toppers with their title hopes severely dented.

Manchester United's ability to balance domestic and European soccer with a thin roster has been a frequently analyzed subject since they secured entry to the European competition. Sadly for the visitors, they appeared tired all game, the memorable win against PSG clearly having taken a toll.

The primary change came from Skinner at the half-time as Melvine Malard entered for Terland but by this time it was ineffective to change the course of the game.
